In a defining moment for the Beaumaris Football Club, our women’s teams have achieved an historic promotion to the top tier of competition - the VAFA Premier Division. This marks and recognises a new era of excellence and achievement in our club’s proud foray into Women’s Football.
This recognition is very much a culmination of the unwavering and enduring commitment of our players, coaching staff, and entire support network. It reflects 8 years of hard work, incremental progress, and steadfast belief - not only in the pursuit of success on the field but in the transformative power of women’s sport.
“We couldn’t be prouder of what our women’s teams have accomplished,” said Club President, Nick Heath. “They’ve not only earned their place among the elite - they’ve inspired, and are inspiring a new generation of female players. We couldn’t be prouder of them.”
Senior Coach Sam Calogero, Reserves Coach Damian Farrow, and their assistants are eagerly preparing their charges for this weekend’s historic first match. “We know the challenges that are before us, and our players are under no illusions that the heat will be on from the first bounce. One thing’s for sure, we’ll give it a good crack.” said Sam.
The Beaumaris Football Club extends its deepest gratitude to all past coaches, particularly 2022 Premiership Coach, Darryl Behrendorff for the foundations that have been laid in the lead up to this weekend’s historic matches.
