SEVEN FROM SEVEN IN RD 2
After a tough day of close results in Rd 1 we saw all seven Sharks teams come out firing on the weekend to record a rare clean sweep across the board.
The most amazing feature of these seven victories was the big winning margins of between 29 and 133 points recorded by each team, with the average winning score being 74 points: just over 12 goals. It was especially pleasing to see the Youth Reserves side record a win and we now have six of the seven teams sitting inside the four after two rounds.
A great effort by Brian Royal, Lee Young and the rest of the football department and a real morale boost to all of the coaching groups, with several Coaches having their first win in their current role.

Some tough games coming up in the next round after the Easter Break, especially for the Senior & Reserves Men’s teams who will host Parkdale sides that are both unbeaten. A great Anzac Round and Local Derby coming up with our five Senior teams wearing the new Anzac Guernsey for the first time and our traditional Anzac Luncheon in conjunction with the Beaumaris RSL as well as the Reunion for the veterans of the ’65 Undefeated Premiership Team.
For the information of all of our Members & Supporters: there have been questions asked recently about the scheduling and fixturing for our seven VAFA teams and we just need to let you all know that it is a very difficult situation for all involved, with seven Senior teams, plus Auskick, all operating on the one oval and in one set of facilities. Our footy operations team work closely with the VAFA to try and schedule matches in a manner that suits all groups, and it can be difficult to get sorted.
At this stage we have FIVE games scheduled for Oak Street next Round with the first game starting at 11.40 after Auskick, and the last U/19 game possibly starting at 7.00pm and running until 9.30pm. We know that at least one match will have to be moved and the revised schedule will be published next week.
