COACHING ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR SEASON 2024

The Club is pleased to announce a re-structuring of its Senior Men’s Coaching group.

Senior Men’s Head Coach - Josh Bourke

Senior Assistant Coach – Stephen Milne

Senior Coaching Panel – Justin Wilson

Senior Coaching Panel – Scott Duthrie

Senior Reserves Coach – Steve Scott

Senior Reserves Assistant Coach – Joel Di Natale

U19 Premier Head Coach – Caine Groves

U19s Premier Reserves Coach – Marc Selby

In making these important announcements, Senior Head Coach JOSH BOURKE, was excited for the future, “After guiding our U19 Div 1 team to an undefeated season and the Premiership, JUSTIN WILSON will join the Senior  Coaching Panel. Justin’s ability to build relationships with the players, watch vision and unpack stats will be invaluable in the Seniors. Justin will no doubt have a huge impact on the Senior group as well as assist the pathway of our current crop of u19’s flowing through to Seniors.

Replacing Justin as Head U19s Coach will be CAINE GROVES. Caine makes the step up from Assistant Coach of our U19s Div 1 team last year, where he guided the midfield. Caines brings a wealth of experience after moving across from St Bedes where he coached their Div 1 team to a premiership.

After a terrific year with the Seniors as Forwards Coach, AFL and Sharks legend STEPHEN MILNE has been reappointed as the Senior Assistant coach and I know the players will be looking forward to more guidance and wisdom from Stephen whose football pedigree is unmatched. A very exciting appointment for the club.

SCOTT DUTHRIE will join the Senior Coaching Panel after spending the year with Scotch in Premier A. Scott brings a wealth of experience to the club and no doubt will do a fantastic job in helping shape our young senior group to achieve A grade standards.

In what can only be described a coup for the club, STEVEN “STUBBA” SCOTT will continue as the coach of the reserves team, after guiding them to the finals in his first year. To make that news even better, Seniors 2023 Captain, JOEL DI NATALE, will be joining the Senior coaching panel whilst his ACL recovers and will be specifically working with Stubba to assist develop our exciting reserves players! With these two amazing club legends at the helm, the Reserves are in wonderful hands.”

Looking towards the future, Club President Nick Heath had this to add, “A pillar of our club is player engagement and connection. What impresses me about our coaches is their ability to form strong relationships and a rapport with our players whilst creating a club culture where it’s enjoyable and players want to be around to achieve their and team goals”.

Further exciting announcements will be made in respect to the Seniors Women’s Teams and additional Seniors Men’s teams in the days ahead.

In addition, we’re pleased to confirm that the ‘Meet the Coaches’ night has been organised for Friday 17th November at the Beaumaris Bowls Club. This event is open to all players, women and men, new and existing, as well as parents and supporters! More details will be advised soon.
