Seniors Chalk Up Good Win Against Jackas

In action from last weekend, our Senior Mens team had a decisive win over Ajax on Saturday.

After missing two rounds due to the 4th state lockdown, our Seniors proved to be more effective around goals, winning the game 10.12-72 to 3.9-27.

The game was played in pleasant, but wintry conditions at Oak Street.

Goals were shared by nine players, Joel Cusack the only multiple goal scorer with two.

Again, it was our defense which proved to be too cohesive for the Ajax forwards. In terms of the league ladder, a noteworthy fact is that the BFC has had the least number of points scored against them in Prem B this season.

Outstanding was Scott Gower who proved to be a thorn in the side of the Ajax forwards, taking several intercept and contested marks, backed up with some powerful clearing kicks to advantage.

Other good players included George Grey, who was at his elusive best, Riley Mihailovic, who kicked an amazing goal, hard running wingers Ben Mathews and Connor Murphy, as well as defenders James Taylor, Josh Trew and Lewis Diggins.

In other Round 10 games the only other successful Senior team was the Womens Reserves team who had a 39 point win over Yarra Old Grammarians.

The action continues this weekend for Round 11 on Saturday 26th.
