Full Time round 4

Full Time - Rounds 4&5

In a game of inches, sometimes an inch can seem like a mile, such was the case in the last quarter of the Senior men’s game against Caulfield Grammarians. This game was close and intense all day, it really came down to those inches in the final 30 minutes of the game.

Unfortunately for us Caulfield seized their opportunities when scoring presented itself, turning an 8 point 3/4 quarter time deficit into a 2 point winning lead. Our guys will reflect on a frustrating final quarter, missing some crucial inside 50 opportunities.

For the many young players in our team, this disappointing 2 point loss will add vital experience to their D&A.

Riley Mihailovic, in stellar form, was our best, followed by Nate Dear (3 goals), Charlie Wilce, Petar Pecer, Cal Heath and James Davidson.

The Reserves were good and are starting to find their own team dynamic. They capitalised on a dominant 2nd Qtr to run out 65 point winners. Best players included Lachlan Tedde, Andreas Baruhas, Cooper Ryan, Noah Beveridge, Campbell Tedde, and Josh Trew.

The U19 Prem team drew the twilight game on Saturday and bounced back from consecutive losses to record a 37 point win over Williamstown CYMS. Jhett Haeata impressed again with his endeavour and presence to be our best. Other good players included Angus Bowd, Carlos Reynolds, Mitchell Davidson and Aiden McCarthy.

The U19 Div 4 team couldn’t get any momentum going and went down to St Marys Salesian on Friday night. Best players were Declan Tibb, Alexander Thow and Jack Pacitti. They are sure to bounce back.

Over at Fitzroy, both Women’s teams found the going pretty tough against quality opposition on their home deck. The Senior team fought valiantly to be point in front at ¾ time, but failed to stop Fitzroy’s 4th Qtr four goal surge. Our best were Taylah Tysoe, Cass Newman and Sunday Hollingsworth. Congrats to Senior debutant Maya Buhl pictured on the cover page with her Mum.

After recording 3 consecutive wins, the Women’s Reserves ran into an in-form Fitzroy team and had one of those games. They still sit in 3rd place on the ladder after starting the season so well. Best players included Juliet Beaton, Simone Marinelli and Niamh Stainforth. Great to see Simone back!

The Youth Reserves play on Tuesday night. We will update this post with the final score.
