Over at Mentone Girls Sec the Senior women have been hard at training. They have stepped up a grade this year to Premier B, which will be a huge challenge for the 2 teams wearing the Blue & Gold.
An interesting development in Women’s footy at VAFA this season will be the alignment on playing numbers with the AFLW, which means there will be 16 players on the ground, not 18.
It’s been great to see a number of new players to the Senior group and a strong representation of players at the Saturday camp.
The first photo was taken after an 8k run, thus a few red faces, the other was at training last Thursday when we managed to get a pic of some of the new girls to the Senior squad.
