JUNIOR CLUB NEWS
WELCOME TO SEASON 2010
Dear Sharks and Shark Families,
The 2010 Footy season is just around the corner. You will find below information about the season,
its start, registration, training, policies and committee contacts. Unfortunately though it starts on a
sad note.
Greg Roberts who served the club so well as coach and mentor, coaching co-ordinator and committeeman passed away suddenly on the morning of January 27th, he was 49 years old.
Testament to Greg’s standing in all the communities he was involved in, was the large number of mourners who attended his funeral. A great guy who loved his life, in particular his family, will be
sadly missed. Our condolences go out to Carolle, Lachlan and Campbell.
The committee of the club has seen some changes over the summer. Rob Collie who has served the
last seven years as either Treasurer or President has moved a little more into the background. He
will serve out his last year’s service as Vice President supporting the new committee in its
endeavours. As most of you would know Rob is a tireless worker and has overseen a fantastic transformation in the club. The growth the club has sustained over the last 7 years and the improved relationship with the Senior Club are a part of Rob’s legacy.
Further both Mark Hall (Treasurer) and Steve Perkin (Secretary and Delegate) have decided to step
back from their formal involvement in the club’s committee. Thanks goes to all three of these great
servants of the club and the standing they have left the club in.

POLICIES
The club has a number of specific policies regarding pre season commencement and player rotation
which will be available for you to view on the website.
Over the summer the committee has addressed the issue of boys playing outside of their age group
and has decided to revise its strict policy of not allowing boys to play regularly outside of their fixed
age group. The reworded policy allows parents to make a formal request in writing to a
subcommittee headed by the Club President to request their child play in another age group. Each
application will be reviewed on an individual basis. The formal policy will be available on the website.
ALL THE BEST FOR SEASON 2010 FROM YOUR COMMITTEE.
