Ollie Drops by to Speak at BFC Lunch

Ollie Florent was the special guest of the club for its Match Day Lunch prior to the game against Mazenod yesterday. At the lunch Ollie spoke modestly about his recent spectacular form for the Sydney Swans, which has seen him earn a 'Rising Star' nomination by the AFL.

Ollie started with the BFC in the Under 14's, and progressed through the years, even making his debut in the Seniors as a 16 year old. His prodigious talent was recognised early on by Juniors Coaching Director Stephen Nash who recommended Ollie's elevation to the Seniors at such a young age.

During his chat with Club President Terry Lucas at the lunch, Ollie recalled that game feeling slightly under sized, but not over-whelmed to take on players much bigger and more experienced in the VAFA Senior ranks.

Ollie was subsequently drafted to the Swans and is now a team regular.

Terry presented Ollie with a commemorative plaque on behalf of the Beaumaris Football Club to recognise his Rising Star nomination.

We would like to wish Ollie all the best for the remainder of the season and thank him for giving up his time to come and visit prior to flying back to Sydney.
