BFC Junior Selected in AFL Elite Team

Recently one of our Junior boys, Andrew Courtney, was selected to the AFL's elite Academy side that toured and played in New Zealand.

This side is selected from all parts of the country and those selected will form the basis of those first picked in the next national AFL draft. The Aussie boys enjoyed an unbeaten tour playing against older and in many cases bigger opposition.

Andrew, who is a very humble young man, told us how honoured he was to wear an AFL Australian jumper. He was thankful for all the support he has been given to get to this point in his footy career and in particular to the Beaumaris Football Club where he has played 123 games in our Juniors, which includes 5 premierships.

Andrew continues to play in our U17's Div One team who will be striving for 6 consecutive premierships this year.

Well done Andrew and best of luck for this year and for the years ahead.

Ando is pictured here with our very own Stephen Nash who was on the tour to look over the talent is his role as Future Drafts Recruiting Officer for the West Coast Eagles.
