At the start of the year we knew the club was blessed with strong numbers in our Senior Section. Last Sunday our Reserves team fulfilled those theories by winning their Semi 2 against Uni Blacks and advancing to the Grand Final in two weeks time.
Under Head Coach Michael Wilson, and Assistant Coach Mark Ensor, this team has gelled to become a Premiership contender.
Make no mistake, Uni Blacks are a top side and to defeat them today was a tremendous achievement. Final score was: 9.15-69 to 4.7-31
Outstanding for us was Jack Gabron-Uhe who played a massive role in defense. Jack has worked through some terrible injuries this year, but today his brilliance really shone.
In the 3rd Qtr, when the game was on the line, Matt Lovejoy and Tim Jeans were explosive out of the centre, backed by a season best rucking performance from Matt Lucas. Matt was ably supported by Tim Cumming.
Will Mattingley was brilliant off a wing and Scotty Moore was tough in the contests.
Other best players included Alex Bennett (AB), Lachie Howes and Sean Coote.
Well done guys. One more to go!
